About The Position

EMPACT- Suicide Prevention Center, part of the La Frontera family, is an industry leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing valued community services and resources for behavioral health counseling, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention since 1987. Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, as part of a team, this Accounting Specialist will process bi-weekly Payroll, weekly Accounts Payable, and daily cash receipts. Assignments may also include accounts receivable, account reconciliations, data entry, filing, bank deposits. Heavy use of Excel, along with various accounting software such as Sage 100, ADP Workforce Now, and Enterprise E-Time. This position is IN-OFFICE. AZ residents only.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • Customer Service focus with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of professionalism.
  • High proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team, helping to accomplish team goals.
  • Must be an AZ resident.
  • Must have a valid Arizona driver license and appropriate liability insurance and approval for liability coverage with EMPACT - SPC’s liability insurance carrier if driving while on agency time or on agency business.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of payroll and/or accounts payable experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all work accurately and on a timely basis. Comply with all job specific deadlines and all regulatory deadlines.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports and information as directed by the Finance Manager or Director of Finance.
  • Document work; maintain records, files and data appropriate to assignments.
  • Respond to inquiries, help problem solve, and effectively communicate with internal and external employees, customers, vendors and other stakeholders.
  • Provide support to accountants on various projects. Heavy usage of Excel and various finance software.
  • Process bi-weekly Payroll, weekly Accounts Payable, and daily cash receipts.
  • Perform accounts receivable, account reconciliations, data entry, filing, and bank deposits.
  • Attend meetings, training, and agency activities and events outside of regularly scheduled work hours upon request.
  • Maintain compliance with required training.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor or member of management.
