About The Position

EMPACT- Suicide Prevention Center, part of the La Frontera family, is an industry-leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing valued community services and resources for behavioral health counseling, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention since 1987. The Recovery Technician is a crucial position that provides counseling, education, and supervision of clients in both individual and group settings as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assist clients in achieving their treatment goals. This role directs, participates, and assists clients in planning and carrying out daily activities and evaluates clients during activities. The technician consults with and may make referrals to other community agencies to provide needed client services. They maintain clinical documentation including client progress towards goals, documentation of activities, med observation records, and shift notes. The position involves intervening in crisis situations and attempting to avert potential crisis situations, and providing orientation to new clients upon intake. This position will require days, nights, and weekends with on-call shifts. Opportunities are available for Full-Time Recovery Technicians, with weekend and overnight differentials available.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • Must have a valid AZ driver's license with no major infractions in the past three years.
  • Must have Fingerprint clearance card or be eligible to obtain one.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older at time of employment.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm in crisis situations.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively.
  • Ability to recognize personal limitations.
  • Ability to relate positively and with empathy to all persons regardless of age, race, creed, gender, or sexual orientation.
  • Maintain professional conduct consistent with ethical professional practice and agency policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and positive working relationships with internal and external team members, stakeholders, and community and business partners.
  • If driving while on agency time or on agency business, a valid Arizona driver's license and appropriate liability insurance and approval for liability coverage with EMPACT - SPC’s liability insurance carrier are required.
  • At time of hire, a 3-year state driving record with no major infractions or excessive driving violations/tickets is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Inpatient or Residential experience preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills is required.

Responsibilities

  • Transports clients in agency vehicles as necessary.
  • May assist in the orientation and training of new staff members.
  • May attend and participate in client staffing to determine progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
