About The Position

This role exists to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all accounting functions for TTCU, including Integrity Title (CUSO) and the TTCU Cares Foundation. By processing and validating financial data in a timely and precise manner, the position supports TTCU’s mission through the delivery of quality information to staff and management while proactively safeguarding member assets. The role upholds TTCU Policies and Procedures, adheres to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and NCUA Regulations, and ensures full compliance with regulatory requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Advanced accounting experience, Credit Union or Banking preferred: 3-5 Years
  • Intermediate Fixed asset experience: 1-3 Years
  • Proficient in basic accounting functions, with the ability to identify and resolve balancing discrepancies using sound account knowledge.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, including building spreadsheets, applying formulas, and using basic “if/then” logic with minimal guidance.
  • Able to learn and navigate proprietary software systems efficiently.
  • Demonstrates strong accuracy, attention to detail, and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of GAAP.
  • Ability to multitask while remaining focused, demonstrating strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of accounting regulations specific to sold real estate loans, including FHLB, FHLMC, GNMA, and loan participation, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and report all sold loan activity to each investor, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform all required program reconciliations and research applicable loan regulations to support TTCU’s sold and portfolio loan programs.
  • Perform accounting functions for the TTCU Cares Foundation, including preparing and posting journal entries, reconciling cash accounts daily, ensuring receivable and payable accounts are balanced, preparing financial statements, and researching and responding to management inquiries.
  • Complete month-end entries, researching and clearly explaining account fluctuations and budget variances. Prepare and post correcting entries as needed to ensure accurate financial statements.
  • Serve as the Administrator for Concur (Accounts Payable System) by managing user access, ensuring employees receive correct account information and role aligned credentials, and updating permissions promptly as staff transition between roles. Regularly review system controls and apply necessary updates to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory and federal reports accurately and on time, including the Quarterly 5300 (Call Report), the annual 945 Report of Withholding, and Annual Escheat Accounts.
  • Identify and explain variances to financial statements, prepare documentation supporting reported figures, research reporting changes, and update worksheets to reflect TTCU’s financial statements accurately.
  • Manage monthly budget tracking and reporting to ensure accuracy and support readiness for mid-year and year-end financial reviews.
