About The Position
Comprehensive Youth Services, Inc. is a non-profit organization which oversees 4+ Programs. If you have a passion for non-profits this is the job for you! The Accounting specialist works closely with others in the finance department which oversees daily, monthly and yearly financial operations.
Requirements
- 2-4 years experience in an accounting role
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Computer proficiency
- Flexibility and the capacity to prioritize tasks in a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends when needed
- Federal and State grant knowledge
Nice To Haves
- Bachelors preferred
- Non-profit experience a plus
- MIP classic or MIP Cloud knowledge preferred
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate financial statements
- Reconcile accounts and credit card accounts
- Generate reports
- Manage accounts payable, pay and file invoices, and track the status of accounts
- Manage account receivables
- Prepare month-end reports and all necessary reporting
- Input ledger entries, process financial transactions
- Accounts payable, draft and send invoices, print checks and ACH payments in a timely manner
- Data Management
- Assist with administrative tasks including answering phones, organizing mail, or ordering office supplies, etc.
- Collaborate with Program Directors to prepare budgets for grants
- Prepare and complete daily bank deposits
- Prepare for financial audits
- Prepare financial reports for the Board of Directors meetings and attend meetings
