About The Position

Comprehensive Youth Services, Inc. is a non-profit organization which oversees 4+ Programs. The Accounting Specialist works closely with others in the finance department, overseeing daily, monthly, and yearly financial operations. This role requires teamwork to maintain a harmonious working relationship with coworkers and management in a small administrative office environment.

Requirements

2-4 years experience in an accounting role
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Computer proficiency
Flexibility and the capacity to prioritize tasks in a rapidly changing environment
Ability to work evenings and/or weekends when needed
Federal and State grant knowledge

Nice To Haves

Bachelors preferred
Non-profit experience a plus
MIP classic or MIP Cloud knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

Prepare accurate financial statements
Reconcile accounts and credit card accounts
Generate reports
Manage accounts payable, pay and file invoices, and track the status of accounts
Manage account receivables
Prepare month-end reports and all necessary reporting
Input ledger entries, process financial transactions
Accounts payable, draft and send invoices, print checks and ACH payments in a timely manner
Data Management
Assist with administrative tasks including answering phones, organizing mail, or ordering office supplies, etc.
Collaborate with Program Directors to prepare budgets for grants
Prepare and complete daily bank deposits
Prepare for financial audits
Prepare financial reports for the Board of Directors meetings and attend meetings
