Accounting & Operations Manager
About The Position
Our client, a growing manufacturing and distribution company, is looking for an Accounting & Operations Manager to join to their team in Farmingdale, NJ. Reporting directly to the Controller/VP of Finance, you will provide broad, hands-on support across accounting, finance, and business operations. You will assist with financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls while developing a strong understanding of the company’s production, inventory, shipping, logistics, and billing processes. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting and bookkeeping background, and is proactive, curious, and self-directed. This is a small-to- mid-sized company where everyone wears multiple hats - if you can take an assignment, determine what needs to be done, work with the right people, and get to the correct answer without needing constant direction, you’ll thrive here. Requirements
- 10+ years of accounting and/or bookkeeping experience required
- Manufacturing or distribution experience required
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills required
- ERP and CRM systems familiarity required
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills required
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently with minimal direction required
Responsibilities
- Perform bank reconciliations and assist with month-end, quarterly, and year-end close activities
- Support financial statement preparation and reporting
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and profitability analysis
- Provide financial information and documentation to ownership
- Support AR, credit, billing, AP, and purchasing functions as needed
- Document key company procedures so critical knowledge isn’t tied to one person
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and increase profitability
