Accounting Operations Assistant (Part-Time) – Temple Square Hospitality | $22–$25/hr Work at One of Salt Lake City’s Most Iconic Hospitality Destinations! Located inside the historic Joseph Smith Memorial Building on Temple Square, Temple Square Hospitality delivers unforgettable dining and event experiences in one of the most beautiful venues in Utah. From upscale dining at The Roof Restaurant overlooking the Salt Lake Valley to elegant banquets and celebrations, our team delivers exceptional hospitality, outstanding food, and memorable guest experiences. We're looking for an Accounting Operations Assistant who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to build practical accounting skills as part of a supportive Finance team.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field
  • Fundamental understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting/filtering, lookups, and data analysis functions
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in data entry, reconciliations, and financial recordkeeping
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated integrity and professionalism when handling confidential financial information
  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and develop practical accounting skills in a professional business environment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, verify, and record daily cash deposits in accordance with company policies and internal controls
  • Perform cash reconciliations, balance cash activity, and investigate discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Assist with periodic cash audits and support compliance with established accounting procedures
  • Process accounts payable invoices by scanning, reviewing, and accurately coding expenses to the appropriate general ledger accounts
  • Review vendor statements, reconcile outstanding balances, and resolve discrepancies through communication with vendors
  • Maintain accurate and organized accounts payable records and supporting documentation
  • Prepare recurring sales journal entries and assist with month-end sales-related accounting activities
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and company records
  • Preform additional duties as assigned
