About The Position

Global Elite Group, a specialized aviation security company, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join their Corporate Headquarters team in Garden City, NY. This role supports the Controller and Finance leadership team in overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll support, billing oversight, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting operations, general ledger management, month-end close, financial analysis, accounts payable/receivable oversight, payroll support, reconciliations, and reporting functions. This position works closely with Finance leadership, operational departments, Human Resources, external auditors, and financial partners to support accurate financial operations and organizational growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting, auditing, financial consulting, or public accounting experience
  • Previous supervisory or accounting leadership experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close
  • Experience supporting payroll, billing, accounts payable, or accounts receivable functions preferred
  • Experience utilizing AI-enabled productivity and generative AI tools to support reporting, workflow efficiency, and data analysis preferred
  • Proficient in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting/reporting systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger activity, reconciliations, billing, receivables, and payroll support
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and operational reporting
  • Maintain internal accounting controls and compliance procedures
  • Oversee receivables, collections, aging reports, and DSO performance
  • Support audits, tax reporting, insurance audits, and compliance-related financial documentation
  • Coordinate with operational leadership regarding labor reporting, billing inquiries, and financial variances
  • Assist with implementation and optimization of accounting systems and reporting tools
  • Supervise and support accounting staff and workflow coordination
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and employee information
