About The Position

The Accounting Manager assists the Controller with a variety of financial activities, requiring an advanced understanding of accounting principles and complex financial transactions. The role involves reviewing and finalizing financial statements, posting government housing vouchers, adjusting tenant ledgers, providing financial reports to management, and supervising bookkeeping staff. The position also entails providing support to other accounting department personnel.

Requirements

College Degree; and/or 3 to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence and memos
Ability to write correspondence
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a many concrete variables in standardized situations
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations will be up to the Controller

Responsibilities

Review, reconcile and finalize monthly financial statements for both property and corporate entities
Post monthly government housing vouchers from local housing authorities
Review and make adjustments to tenant ledgers as necessary
Review financial data and provide reports as requested to management
Supervision of bookkeeping staff
Provide support and assistance to other accounting department personnel as needed
Regular and predictable attendance
Ability to work cooperatively with others (i.e. Residents, Co-Workers, Supervisor, etc...)
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness
Responsible for ensuring a professional appearance and attitude at all times for yourself and the company
Other duties as they may be assigned
