About The Position

The Accounting Manager position is an accounting and financial professional with the work ethic, technical skills, and experience to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. This position reports to the Controller and works to manage a variety of month-end closing responsibilities and day-to-day operations. Strong accounting knowledge, process ownership, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines are all key elements to this role.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment
  • BA in Accountancy is required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Sr Accountant role.
  • Must possess analytical abilities to perform ad hoc and other analyses.
  • Ability to accurately work under pressure in meeting deadlines.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience in driving process improvement
  • Strong mathematical skills

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and/or Sage is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of accounting functions
  • Supervises the accounting team, including assigning duties and ensuring work is done correctly and on time. Responsible for tracking performance and coaching when needed. Prepares yearly performance reviews.
  • Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP guidelines
  • Responsible for accounting management concerning taxes, reporting, general ledgers maintenance, and reconciliations, etc.
  • Manage journal entries, invoices, etc., and reconcile accounts for monthly/yearly month-end close
  • Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting, and comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements
  • Research accounting issues for accuracy and taking corrective action when necessary
  • Strengthen and grow relationships with clients by communicating with customers regarding past-due accounts
  • Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts receivable process identifying areas of performance improvement
  • Prepare analytical and ratio analysis in relation to A/R for management to gain a better understanding of how collection efforts are progressing
  • Assist with monthly financial closings including statement preparation, reconciliation of balance sheet and income statements, and inventory closing.
  • Assist the Controller in meeting all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements of internal and external users
  • Works with department managers to ensure consistent application of general ledger accounting and cost coding
  • Support other accounting and finance team members
  • Prepare monthly financials in Excel. Review expenditures with Marketing Manager & Controller.
