We currently have a position available for Accounting Manager, reporting to the Corporate Controller. As Accounting Manager, you will lead centralized payroll, receivables, and payables operations for Huhtamaki North America, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and process excellence. You’ll drive digital transformation, foster team development, and play a key role in financial reporting and audit readiness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing or multi-site environment.
  • Proven management and team development skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll, receivables, and payables processes.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Strong technology aptitude, including expertise with ERP systems, automation platforms, and analytical tools such as Power BI, advanced Excel, and workflow solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all centralized payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable activities for US facilities.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of payroll administrators, accounts receivable managers, and accounts payable managers. Recruit, hire, and conduct performance evaluations. (5 direct reports, 8 indirect reports)
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and automation in transaction processing.
  • Champion the post-implementation phase of a new ERP and related finance systems, collaborating with IT and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and monitor working capital and process efficiency KPIs for finance transaction processing.
  • Oversee the production of periodic financial reports, ensuring compliance with financial reporting standards.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and internal teams for annual audits and other business audits.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Design and deliver training programs for new and current staff, identifying and addressing development needs.
