About The Position

The Accounting Manager will oversee and manage the full spectrum of accounting operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory standards. This role is pivotal in maintaining the integrity of financial data through meticulous bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and balance sheet analysis. The successful candidate will lead the accounting team in executing full cycle accounting processes, including job costing and cost accounting, to support strategic business decisions. They will collaborate cross-functionally to optimize accounting systems and implement best practices that enhance efficiency and accuracy. Ultimately, the Accounting Manager will provide insightful financial information that drives organizational growth and ensures fiscal responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and full cycle accounting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and systems relevant to the industry.
  • Demonstrated experience with bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and balance sheet preparation.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
  • Experience with job costing and cost accounting in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks Enterprise.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in financial forecasting and budgeting.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with a track record of managing high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and balance sheets to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
  • Oversee job costing and cost accounting processes to monitor project profitability and control expenses.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during audits and financial reviews.
  • Develop and maintain accounting systems and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate accounting staff to foster professional development and maintain high performance standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
