About The Position

Performs a variety of duties related to finance in a medical care facility. The Accounting Manager works alongside, and serves as a backup for, the Controller to assure the accuracy of financial data to assist in the monthly closing of financials systems and completes a variety of reconciliations. Uses analytical skills to assist team in various reporting needs and with special projects.

Requirements

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Comprehensive understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial close processes
Knowledge of internal controls, risk management, and audit practices
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis tools
5+ years of accounting experience, including overseeing or leading assigned staff.

Responsibilities

Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
Supervise, mentor, and develop assigned accounting staff to enhance performance and accountability
Review and ensure timely completion of account reconciliations with appropriate supporting documentation
Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow
Contribute to the development and monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of effective internal control systems
Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors, coordinating audit requests and deliverables
Ensure compliance with GAAP and adherence to organizational policies and procedures
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within accounting operations
Maintain and enforce standardized procedures, ensuring adequate documentation and cross-training for continuity
Act as the primary Financial Services liaison in the absence of the Controller
