About The Position

Sagis Diagnostics is an entirely physician-led sub-specialty pathology group supported by a CAP-accredited histology lab located in the heart of Houston, Texas. Led by a team of board-certified pathologists, our lab is at the forefront of diagnostic science. We offer the highest quality services to physicians, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospitals. One of our many strengths is we develop strong collaborative relationships with each of our referring physicians by offering accurate, prompt, and clear diagnoses in a personal and customized manner. The Accounting Manager oversees the operation of the Accounting department, creates functional strategies and specific objectives, and assists in the development of budgets/policies/procedures. Typically requires 2+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or directly related field
  • 2+ years’ Managerial Experience
  • 3+ years’ Accounting experience (5+ years preferred)
  • Experience in Accounting in Healthcare Industry (Laboratory, Services) required
  • Solid comprehension of GAAP Standards
  • Financial Statement Analysis
  • Accounting Software and ERP Systems (Experience with QuickBooks Desktop preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and directs the operations of the accounting team.
  • Implements and trains accounting staff, on accounting policies and procedures that adhere to governmental, financial, and tax regulations and comply with GAAP and IFRS standards.
  • Monitors and evaluates accounting systems and processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversees overall monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes and reporting.
  • Staffing including interviewing candidates, annual reviews, and employee goals.
  • Collaborate with other departments.
  • Assists with budget process, including variance analysis on financial reporting
  • Communicates with vendors
  • Maintains oversight of accounts payable process along with preparing weekly cash disbursement approval.
