About The Position

Appex Group Inc. is a dynamic and fast-growing company, and we are looking for an Accounting Manager / Junior Controller to help manage and optimize our accounting processes. This role is critical to ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. We need someone who is hands-on, detail-oriented, and can seamlessly integrate with our team to drive results. The Accounting Manager / Jr. Controller will oversee core accounting functions, financial reporting, and compliance while ensuring robust accounting processes are in place. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and an excellent problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role involves collaboration with various departments and stakeholders, including affiliate partners, auditors, and tax agencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial or controller-level role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with deferred revenue accounting and audits.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms).
• Experience with tax compliance, registered agents, and entity management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Highly organized with a proactive and hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and improve accounting processes, ensuring strong internal controls, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Manage and reconcile payments to affiliates, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Prepare and support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and policies.
• Oversee UI insurance processes and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
• Manage deferred revenue recognition and compliance with GAAP.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
• Oversee tax filings, coordinate with tax advisors, and ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations.
• Manage registered agents, oversee the maintenance and closing of entities as needed, and ensure legal compliance.
• Supervise AP functions, streamline processes, and maintain vendor relationships.
• Oversee corporate credit card policies, expense tracking, and reconciliation.
• Work closely with the accountant and junior financial analyst to support business needs and align with Appex Group’s financial goals.
• Assist with preparation of lender reporting package and calculation of leverage ratios.
• Lead special projects as required to enhance financial processes, reporting, and system improvements.
