Brown & Brown is seeking an Accounting Leader to join our growing team in Lafayette, LA! The Accounting & Operations Leader primary responsibilities include accounting and financial reporting for the profit center. This person also oversees the day-to-day operations of the entire office.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in accounting
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Exceptional telephone demeanor
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
5 years’ experience in a similar position

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in a business or financial related discipline

Responsibilities

Thoroughly know and understand the components which make up the Brown & Brown accounting requirements, which are included in the Brown & Brown Accounting Guidelines
Prepare and report monthly financial reports, meeting required corporate deadlines
Prepare a monthly forecast, as required. An indication of actions that can be taken to minimize variances should be provided
Assist in the preparation of the annual financial budget. Focus of all efforts should result in accurate information provided in a proactive manner
Must understand the impact of financial results reporting and use of forecasting to assure desired results
Ensure compliance with government agencies and corporate policies and procedures
Oversee Accounting Staff in order to effectively attain responsibilities and objectives.
Pursues a course of personal, professional development.
