About The Position

Sage Dental is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Accounting Intern to support bank reconciliation and cash matching processes. This temporary internship is 40 hours per week for 10 weeks and is based at the company’s support center in Boca Raton, Florida. The intern will work closely with the accounting team to help ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, gaining hands-on experience in accounting operations in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate, thorough reconciliations and matching activities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to research and resolve discrepancies effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software or tools is preferred.
• Previous internship or coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reconciling bank statements to general ledger accounts and identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Match cash receipts to corresponding payment postings in the accounting system to ensure financial transactions are accurate and complete.
• Research unmatched items and work with internal teams and external partners to resolve them.
• Maintain organized, accurate records of bank reconciliations, cash matching activities, and related audit documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve bank reconciliation and cash matching processes and recommend ways to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Support the accounting team with ad hoc projects and assignments as needed.
