About The Position

The BOLT (Building Opportunities & Learning Together) Intern Program is Kinder Morgan’s elite summer internship program. This program offers the opportunity to spend the summer gaining hands-on experience in the energy industry while enhancing professional and interpersonal skills. Interns will participate in meaningful projects that support the company's vision of delivering energy to improve lives and create a better world.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Entering Junior or Senior year of college
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel, MS Word, & Outlook
  • Ability to learn, work independently, and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond to deadlines
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills: listens intently; writes and speaks clearly
  • Takes initiative, highly adaptive, pays attention to detail, and works efficiently

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Kinder Morgan professionals, specifically focused on technical accounting: derivatives, hedging, and research, through on the job training and hands-on assignments including, but not limited to, allocations, journal entries, reconciliations, research, and financial reporting.
  • Have the opportunity to work with two or more functional areas of Kinder Morgan: Accounting Policies and Procedures, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Segment Accounting
  • Assist in monthly close process
