Accounting Intern (Summer 2027)
About The Position
Oshkosh AeroTech, an Oshkosh company, provides aviation ground support products, gate equipment, and airport services to commercial airlines, airports, air-freight carriers, ground handling, and military customers. Its brands include LEKTRO®, JetAire®, JetPower®, AmpTekÔ, and Jetway®. The general accounting internship provides comprehensive exposure to accounting and operational finance. The intern rotates through operational finance areas including accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer invoicing, and supplier/vendor management. The intern also learns essential functions of the financial enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. The position is intended to provide knowledge of financial processes and systems useful for future Finance roles. Duties are not all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Be a student working toward a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field.
- Be available year round.
Nice To Haves
- Previous exposure to accounting through coursework or work experience.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing journal entries.
- Develop working knowledge of invoice processing.
- Participate in the twice-weekly payment (check) run.
- Assist in preparing customer invoices.
- Participate in fixed asset audits.
- Complete ad hoc accounting projects as needed.
- Rotate through areas of operational finance, including accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer invoicing, and supplier/vendor management.
- Learn essential functions of the financial ERP system.
