2027 Summer Internship Program - Accounting
About The Position
CareSource offers a 12-week, paid summer internship for college students seeking practical experience and career preparation. The intern supports special projects, initiatives, and other activities according to assignment, contributing to accounting and reporting work. The program includes opportunities to work on impactful projects, attend career and networking seminars with CareSource leaders, receive mentoring, build skills, and explore career interests. The role may include posting transactions, reconciling accounts, handling accounting-related billings and payments, assisting with regulatory reporting, and preparing analyses and reports for management. The position is based in a general office environment, where sitting or standing for extended periods may be required. The program also provides orientation, mentoring, training, regular feedback, and opportunities for development and expanded responsibilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Be a current rising junior or senior in an accredited degree program, or have graduated within the last six months.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently, and as part of a team.
- Effective listening and critical-thinking skills.
- Dependability, flexibility, and ability to maintain confidential information.
- Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Assist with accounting and reporting tasks, including posting transactions in the accounting system and performing detailed account reconciliations.
- Complete accounting reconciliations, billings, and payments, including work related to reinsurance and pharmacy benefits.
- Assist with state and federal regulatory reporting responsibilities as requested.
- Provide analyses and reports to management as requested.
- Perform other duties and ad hoc tasks as assigned.
