About The Position

Enact is seeking an Accounting Intern to join its Accounting team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This 12-week internship begins May 17, 2027, and follows a hybrid schedule at Enact Headquarters. The intern will rotate between two accounting teams, gain experience in accounting, compliance, and reporting, and complete projects supporting the Accounting team.

Enact’s internship program offers hands-on experience on meaningful business projects, opportunities to network with company leaders, cohort teambuilding events, volunteer opportunities, and professional development workshops. Interns also participate in multiple weekly events and develop relationships with peers and mentors.

Requirements

• Be a rising senior or graduate student pursuing an Accounting degree.
• Be in the process of pursuing, or plan to pursue, a CPA license after graduation.
• Have a strong foundation in accounting principles and an understanding of GAAP concepts.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Have strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Be self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
• Have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Be curious, adaptable, and eager to learn in a fast-paced professional environment.
• Have a positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close activities, SOX control testing, reconciliations, and ad hoc projects supporting financial reporting and compliance objectives.
• Support financial reporting, accounting, and compliance processes through data analysis, documentation, testing, and research related to GAAP, SOX, SEC, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Gain exposure to accounting, regulatory, and compliance requirements within a highly regulated industry.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop an understanding of the finance and mortgage insurance industry.
