About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern/Co-op to join our Commodity Accounting Team. This individual will support daily accounting operations, assist with process documentation, and contribute to data-driven initiatives aimed at improving accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate is pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Data Science, and has a strong interest in data analytics and process improvement. At Global Partners, business starts with people. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Data Science.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with documenting business processes or internal controls.
  • Exposure to ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Experience working with Snowflake and Tableau for data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with SQL for querying and analyzing data.
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in accounting or finance.
  • Interest in process automation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily and monthly accounting tasks including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Support the documentation of accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Analyze transactional and operational data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for automation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows and improve reporting accuracy.
  • Help prepare financial reports and support audit requests.
  • Participate in system testing and implementation of accounting tools or enhancements.
