About The Position

The Hylant Internship Program offers a summer journey that challenges and inspires interns while paving the way for success in the insurance industry. Interns will join a cohort of other talented individuals to gain practical experience, build vital skills, and forge meaningful connections within the insurance industry. This program provides hands-on finance or accounting experience in a leading insurance firm with a collaborative and award-winning culture.

Requirements

• Rising junior, senior, or graduate-level standing at an accredited college or university, or graduated within the past seven months.
• Maintain an average GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Ability to work from one of Hylant’s office locations nationwide.
• Availability to work from May 18-August 13, 2027, with some flexibility.
• Interest in a long-term career in insurance.
• Authorized to work for any U.S. employer; Hylant cannot provide H-1B visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Involvement in extracurricular activities and/or part-time job recommended.
• Major in Risk Management and Insurance, Sales, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, IT, Business, HR, or Communications preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and forecasts (Finance).
• Support budgeting and variance analysis activities (Finance).
• Help consolidate financial data from different departments (Finance).
• Conduct research on market trends and financial benchmarks (Finance).
• Build and maintain Excel models for scenario planning (Finance).
• Participate in meetings to understand strategic financial decisions (Finance).
• Assist with journal entries and general ledger reconciliations (Accounting).
• Help prepare and review financial statements (Accounting).
• Support accounts payable and receivable processes (Accounting).
• Organize and maintain financial records and documentation (Accounting).
• Perform bank and account reconciliations (Accounting).
• Assist with audit preparation and compliance tasks (Accounting).
• Take on projects that support the team where necessary (Finance and Accounting).
• Work collaboratively with a team, mentored by Hylant leaders throughout the summer.
• Engage in the Hylant Innovation Challenge to research and propose business solutions to executive leadership.
• Meet clients, carriers, and vendors, with opportunities to shadow calls or visit on-site.
• Visit multiple Hylant offices to expand your network and experience company culture.
