About The Position

The Evergreen State College seeks part-time faculty with professional accounting experience to teach up to six undergraduate classes as part of a Governmental and Nonprofit Accounting Certificate and a Foundations of Financial and Managerial Accounting Certificate programs. These certificates provide introductory to intermediate-level education for students seeking new career opportunities including current public sector employees. The certificate programs are offered through the school of Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) at Evergreen. PaCE provides transformative education for part-time students, working adults, and lifelong learners. Drawing on Evergreen’s tradition of innovative curricular design and collaborative learning communities, it offers bachelor’s degree curriculum and stackable certificates that combine theory with practice to help students achieve academic goals, advance their careers, and create a better world.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Academic or professional training in governmental accounting.
• Experience delivering instruction or training.

Nice To Haves

• A terminal degree (Ph.D., DBA , or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional work experience in governmental accounting.
• Prior online teaching experience at the college level, including course design and delivery.
• CPA license.
• Experience teaching students from diverse and underserved populations, including returning adult learners.

• Teach up to six undergraduate classes as part of a Governmental and Nonprofit Accounting Certificate and a Foundations of Financial and Managerial Accounting Certificate programs.
