About The Position

The Accounting Coordinator (Japanese) will perform day-to-day accounting functions for a Japanese IT company. This role involves processing AP invoices, handling accounts receivable and payable requests, making journal entries in the General Ledger, payroll entry, and bank reconciliation. The position requires researching and resolving discrepancies, supporting audit requests, and entering financial transactions into accounting software, specifically SAP. Confidentiality of financial data is essential. The role also includes participating in meetings and occasional training.

Requirements

  • Strong oral and written communication skills demonstrate the ability to collaborate and prepare communications/presentations, reports, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to deliver quality work, manage time and multiple tasks in stressful situations effectively, adapt to changing priorities, and respond with urgency to requests while remaining focused on strategic imperatives.
  • Experience in a multicultural working environment and sensitivity to intercultural issues
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel or similar software and willingness to learn new software, specifically ERP systems, SAP.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail-orientated skills, along with the ability to organize thoughts and ideas.

  • Teamwork skills and motivation to work effectively across functions collaboratively, as well as independently.

  • Effective English communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • Effective Japanese communication skills, both written and verbal, are also required for this position for communication with Headquarters in Japan.
  • Associate degree (A.A.) in accounting, finance, or similar field and two to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum one year of hands-on experience in a similar position.

  • Any accounting certificates would be a plus.

Responsibilities
