About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Director of Financial Operations, this position is responsible for providing accounting services for the Center. Responsibilities include processing accounts payables, journal entries, W-9s, and procurement card transactions, as well as maintaining various reports and spreadsheets. The position is also responsible for creating/updating distribution tables for required staff and will assist with payroll and reporting as backup when needed. The role may involve learning other processes as a backup. HFC incorporates principles of trauma-informed care, emphasizing cultural sensitivity and a safe and respectful environment. All employees are responsible for learning and implementing trauma-informed practices within their scope of work. Reassignment of work location and hours may occur based on program needs.

Requirements

  • Graduation from standard high school or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and be insurable to drive Center vehicles
  • Must pass and maintain all Center mandate trainings and all trainings required for certification
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate in both an oral and written manner
  • Ability to understand complex written and oral instructions
  • Must possess critical thinking skills
  • Ability to correctly apply generally accepted accounting principles, complex agency regulations, and procedures
  • Must maintain complete Center confidentiality
  • Must demonstrate initiative by actively pursuing efficiencies
  • Possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to utilize a personal computer
  • Competence on Excel in a windows environment
  • 10-key by touch
  • Competence on other office machines as necessary to adequately perform the duties of this position
  • Must be able to organize data
