About The Position

The Accounting Clerk supports the hotel’s financial operations by handling accounts payable and receivable, invoices, deposits, direct-billing records, and account follow-up. The role assists the Property Accountant with payroll, human resources, and other business needs; communicates with guests and colleagues; participates in credit meetings; and protects confidential and proprietary information. The position is based at Hayes Mansion San Jose, a hotel in the Curio Collection.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Friendly, helpful, service-oriented communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring invoices and deposits are handled on schedule.
• Contact new and outstanding accounts by phone to support accounts receivable aging and compliance with corporate standards.
• Assist the Property Accountant with human resources, payroll, and other business tasks.
• Communicate with guests and teammates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Participate in credit meetings to discuss account statuses and next steps.
• Maintain organized filing systems for direct billing and help ensure accurate account handling.
• Protect confidential information, proprietary information, and trade secrets.
