To support continued growth and stability across our Nova Scotia operations, we are hiring an Accounting Clerk to support multiple dealership locations in the HRM region. This role plays a key part in keeping our regional operations running smoothly and accurately behind the scenes. This opportunity is well suited for someone with a solid accounting foundation who is looking for consistency, long-term opportunity, and meaningful work within a collaborative finance team supporting multiple Steele Auto Group dealerships in the region.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting (or an accounting-focused program)
  • Minimum 1 year of accounting experience in a Canadian business environment
  • Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, including debits and credits
  • Experience in AP and/or AR
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems
  • A team-first mindset with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive or dealership experience is an asset, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Supporting daily accounting operations across multiple Steele Auto Group dealerships in Nova Scotia
  • Posting and reconciling financial transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Completing daily cash reporting and bank reconciliations
  • Posting and balancing vehicle deals
  • Preparing journal entries and assisting with general ledger reconciliations
  • Supporting inventory controls and internal financial checks
  • Working in line with SOPs and defined processes when completing daily required tasks
  • Working closely with Controllers and dealership teams to ensure timely, accurate financial information
