About The Position

The Accounting Associate's primary duty is to review daily transactions and communicate discrepancies to management while managing other duties. This is an in-office position. The role involves researching daily exceptions for anomalies and discrepancies, communicating problems to management, correcting entry errors, and providing feedback to site level bookkeepers. The associate will also administer the company purchase card program, company vehicle registrations, and the EZ tag program. Additionally, the role includes filing documents, reviewing scanned documents, maintaining relationships with internal customers, applying working knowledge of auditing principles, performing reception duties, researching customer questions, coordinating mail services, processing mail, and ordering/distributing office supplies. It is an essential function of this job for the employee to work in the office. The position offers opportunities for advancement.

Requirements

  • High school graduate
  • 2 years accounting experience
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel as well as other Microsoft products

Nice To Haves

  • College degree preferred
  • 2 years audit experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Research daily exceptions for anomalies and discrepancies
  • Communicate problems and discrepancies to management in a timely and efficient manner
  • Correct entry errors as needed and provide feedback to site level bookkeepers
  • Administer the company purchase card program
  • Administer company vehicle registrations and the EZ tag program
  • File all applicable documents in repository
  • Review scanned documents for completeness and accurate filing
  • Maintain relationships with internal customers
  • Apply working knowledge of the practices, procedures, and principles of auditing to exception auditing
  • Prioritize based on urgency
  • Perform reception duties such as answering and directing calls, greeting guests in a professional manner
  • Research and resolve customer questions
  • Coordinate pick-up and delivery of mail services which includes but is not limited to US mail and third party carriers
  • Process, receive, sort and forward mail
  • Order, receive, stock, and distribute office supplies
  • Perform other duties as required and/or assigned
