About The Position

CHN, a $32Million nonprofit, has a need for a friendly, engaging, energetic, self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, technically savvy data entry experienced accounting assistant for its accounting department located in Tampa, Florida. The position reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for various duties within the department, including front desk reception, assisting with accounts payable processing, and serving as backup for data entry of gifts and contributions into Raisers Edge. The role also involves participating in the organization’s continuous quality improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in accounting, business or related field from an accredited college and/or university preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with Blackbaud, MIP, and/or other ERP systems.
  • Strong Excel skills, including use of Vlookups, Xlookups, and pivot tables.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license with no record of criminal driving offense of license suspension.
  • Must possess means of providing job related transportation and show proof of required insurance.
  • Must be insurable under CHN’s current auto insurance policy.
  • Must successfully complete and maintain FDLE clearance, Federal background and state criminal background check and sexual predator screening.
  • Ability to perform moderately complex mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to handle multiple interruptions while performing detailed work.
  • Must have reliable in-person attendance and extremely trustworthy.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and highly organized.
  • Consistently and accurately follow established policies and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.

Responsibilities

  • Provides front desk reception duties in the administration building, including greeting visitors, answering and routing calls, accepting and logging subpoenas, distributing incoming mail, handling mail with donations, and accepting/providing receipts for non-cash donations.
  • Assists and provides backup to the Accounts Payable Specialist with entering invoice information, reviewing employee mileage requests, researching invoice and payment details, reconciling vendor statements, generating weekly accounts payable payments, and gathering accounts payable information for reviews and audits.
  • Maintains and reconciles gift cards.
  • Serves as custodian of Administration petty cash.
  • Orders office supplies for the accounting department.
  • Provides backup for data entry of contributions into Raisers Edge.
  • Provides backup to various tasks of the Accounting Manager as needed.
  • Assists with special projects as requested by supervisor or Director of Finance.
