About The Position

The Accounting Assistant supports BE&SCO Manufacturing’s accounting and financial operations by assisting with accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, invoice processing, inventory-related accounting support, bookkeeping activities, and general accounting administration. This role works closely with internal departments, vendors, and customers to help maintain accurate financial records, timely payment processing, organized documentation, and efficient accounting operations. The position requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, organizational skills, and the ability to support multiple accounting functions within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or accounts receivable experience preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing or inventory-related accounting preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong data accuracy skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems
  • Experience with collections and customer account management
  • Familiarity with inventory or purchasing processes in manufacturing
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices

Responsibilities

  • Process vendor invoices and assist with invoice verification and coding
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documentation
  • Assist with payment processing and vendor communication
  • Maintain organized payable records and supporting documentation
  • Assist with customer invoicing and payment posting
  • Monitor outstanding balances and support collection efforts
  • Communicate professionally with customers regarding payment status
  • Help maintain accurate customer account records
  • Assist with invoice tracking related to inventory and materials
  • Maintain familiarity with manufacturing materials and purchasing documentation
  • Support inventory-related accounting reconciliation and recordkeeping
  • Coordinate with Material Control and Purchasing departments as needed
  • Perform accounting data entry and maintain financial records
  • Assist with reconciliations, reporting, and documentation accuracy
  • Maintain organized accounting files and audit-ready documentation
  • Support month-end and general accounting activities
  • Provide general administrative support to the accounting department
  • Assist with special projects and additional accounting duties as assigned
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support operational and financial accuracy
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information
