Under the general direction of the Faculty Director, the Accounting and Taxation Clinic Coordinator manages the development and administration of an Accounting and Taxation Clinic that supports industry alliance programs/projects and provides pro bono accounting and taxation support to local private businesses, enhances student professional development, and supports the Merage School’s Private Business Initiative. Supports the creation and modification of Clinic policies, procedures, and infrastructure, manages clinic communications with clients, the public, advisory boards, and CPA firm mentors, and plans and/or coordinates Clinic activities and educational conferences. Responsible for managing the Clinic website and student and client application process. Manages development and issuance of engagement letters and the staffing of client engagements with student teams and CPA mentors. Oversees the day-to-day operation and administrative management for the Clinic, including activities that enhance visibility, stakeholder engagement, and program effectiveness. Note: This is a part-time Limited appointment (up to 16 hours per week).

Requirements

  • Ability to perform all commonly applicable functions in common word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software and web applications.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop working relationships within department, among campus staff and faculty, and with industry partners.
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of industry alliance and client service concepts and practices.
  • Proven organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
  • Takes initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and industry professionals and effectively support administrative needs of volunteer CPA mentors and Faculty Director.
  • Demonstrated experience in tracking and using data to innovate, analyze, problem solve, and communicate results and solutions based on data.
  • Willingness to research and gain a basic understanding of the accounting profession and typical types of engagements serviced by accountants/CPAs.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with project/case management systems.
  • Experience planning and executing events such as conferences and workshops.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop and update process and procedure manuals and manage client application and vetting processes effectively.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience providing executive-level administrative support and managing/coordinating events.
