About The Position

As a member of Anthropic’s Finance Analytics and Business Intelligence team, this role establishes the analytics engineering and business intelligence capabilities that support the Accounting organization. The position helps ensure accurate financial reporting, streamline accounting processes, and support financial operations as Anthropic deploys AI systems at scale. The role partners closely with Accounting to build a data foundation that turns financial and operational data into reliable, self-serve insights and automated processes. It owns data models and orchestration supporting accounting analytics, designs dashboards and data applications, and works with Data Engineering, Data Science, and Finance to ensure trusted data. It also helps define the future of AI-powered accounting automation by identifying manual work that AI could take on. This is a hands-on, foundational role responsible for creating scalable systems for a growing function and taking projects from ambiguous questions through to trusted, durable solutions.

Requirements

Proficiency in SQL and Python or another object-oriented programming language.
Experience with data modeling and orchestration tools, such as dbt and Airflow.
Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools, such as Looker, Tableau, Hex, or Streamlit.
Experience designing self-serve analytics experiences for non-technical stakeholders.
A track record of partnering closely with Finance or Accounting teams to drive business and financial outcomes, turning open questions and data into clear, insightful analysis.
A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
A field of study relevant to the role, demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain data models and orchestration pipelines using tools such as dbt and Airflow to power analytics, reporting, and downstream financial workflows.
Develop dashboards, visualizations, and data applications that provide stakeholders with self-serve access to data.
Translate stakeholders’ business questions into well-defined metrics and tools, and turn analysis into clear recommendations.
Build analytics to support financial reporting, the close process, reconciliations, and scenario analysis.
Partner with stakeholders to define AI-powered accounting automation, streamline workflows, and reduce manual effort.
Champion data quality, testing, and documentation across the data stack.
