Materials & Supplies Accounting is within the Controller's Department and provides accounting, financial analysis, reporting, and control support for inventory and related materials and supplies activities across Duke Energy. The Accounting Analyst supports accurate and timely inventory accounting in accordance with GAAP, FERC requirements, company policy, and internal controls. This role is primarily responsible for preparing recurring accounting deliverables, including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and supporting schedules. The position reviews inventory data, researches routine differences, maintains documentation, and works with more experienced team members and business partners to resolve issues and meet monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting deadlines. The Accounting Analyst I performs routine assignments with guidance while developing knowledge of materials and supplies accounting, systems, and business processes. The Accounting Analyst II performs moderately complex assignments with greater independence, applies broader accounting knowledge, and may assist with issue resolution, analysis, and process improvement efforts.
