About The Position

Under the general direction of the Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis, performs development and financial analysis of the Operating Budget and multi-year Operating Plan. Performs financial and project analysis, develops financial reports and dashboards, and collaborates with operational leaders to support budgeting, forecasting, and informed decision-making.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, or a related field from an accredited college or university is required.
For Accounting Analyst I: Two years of recent progressively responsible experience in accounting, budgeting, finance, financial analysis, financial planning, or a related business field is required.
For Accounting Analyst II: Five years of recent progressively responsible experience in accounting, budgeting, finance, financial analysis, or a related business field is required, including at least two years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or financial planning.
Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and receive detailed information through oral communication.
Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, and close visual acuity to operate a computer is required.
Candidates must be able to work effectively with diverse groups and adapt to evolving technologies and systems.
Employees must remain alert and aware of their surroundings at all times and maintain the ability to respond to changing circumstances in a timely manner.

Nice To Haves

Utility experience is preferred.
Experience preparing financial models, forecasts, and management reporting is preferred.
An advanced degree or professional certification, such as CPA, CMA, CFA, CGMA, or CGFM, is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assists in developing and maintaining the Operating Budget and multi-year Operating Plan, including financial statements, supporting schedules, reports, dashboards, and presentations.
Collects, validates, analyzes, and interprets financial and operational data to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Maintains budget reporting systems and project management reporting, including project setup, reporting layouts, reconciliations, and budget reporting.
