About The Position

Under the general direction of the Manager – Financial Planning & Analysis, performs development and financial analysis of the Operating Budget and multi-year Operating Plan. Performs financial and project analysis, develops financial reports and dashboards, and collaborates with operational leaders to support budgeting, forecasting, and informed decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, or a related field from an accredited college or university is required.
  • For Accounting Analyst I: Two years of recent progressively responsible experience in accounting, budgeting, finance, financial analysis, financial planning, or a related business field is required.
  • For Accounting Analyst II: Five years of recent progressively responsible experience in accounting, budgeting, finance, financial analysis, or a related business field is required, including at least two years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or financial planning.
  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, and close visual acuity to operate a computer is required.
  • Candidates must be able to work effectively with diverse groups and adapt to evolving technologies and systems.
  • Employees must remain alert and aware of their surroundings at all times and maintain the ability to respond to changing circumstances in a timely manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Utility experience is preferred.
  • Experience preparing financial models, forecasts, and management reporting is preferred.
  • An advanced degree or professional certification, such as CPA, CMA, CFA, CGMA, or CGFM, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing and maintaining the Operating Budget and multi-year Operating Plan, including financial statements, supporting schedules, reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Collects, validates, analyzes, and interprets financial and operational data to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Maintains budget reporting systems and project management reporting, including project setup, reporting layouts, reconciliations, and budget reporting.
