Materials & Supplies Accounting is within the Controller's Department and provides accounting, financial analysis, reporting, and control support for inventory and related materials and supplies activities across Duke Energy. The Senior Accounting Analyst applies strong technical accounting knowledge, research capabilities, and sound judgment to help ensure accurate inventory accounting and compliance with GAAP, FERC, company policy, and internal control requirements. This role performs complex analysis, account reconciliations, and research related to inventory balances, transactions, reserves, and operational activity. The position partners with Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, internal and external auditors, regulatory teams, and other stakeholders to resolve issues, respond to data requests, support financial reporting, and clearly communicate results and recommendations to management. This is the fourth level of the financial analysis classification hierarchy. Progression to this level is typically restricted based on business need. Employees at this level work independently and receive minimal guidance. Incumbents are required to have in-depth knowledge and experience, solve complex problems, and act as a resource for less experienced employees.
