About The Position

The Accounting Analyst is primarily responsible for processing and maintaining fixed assets, prepaid accounts, and is responsible for executing a variety of financial processes including month-end and year-end closing, general ledger reviews, variance analysis, account reconciliations, and assisting with quarterly regulatory reporting.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of Accounting Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Minimum of intermediate experience in Excel
  • Performing tasks with minimal supervision
  • Proactive and self-starter
  • Independent critical thinker
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities and accomplish deliverables accurately and on time.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and detailed procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other team members, managers, clients, customers, and vendors.
  • Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills
  • Working knowledge of accounting related software

Nice To Haves

  • Commercial banking accounting experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monthly fixed assets and prepaid accounting
  • Supports daily liquidity and funds management.
  • Prepare general ledger certifications (i.e. correspondent bank accounts, asset/liability general ledger accounts and bank control accounts) and applicable schedules.
  • Assist in the month end close process and reporting, including variance analysis.
  • Assist in preparing the quarterly Call Report and supporting schedules
  • Supports preparation of various analytical reports and information
  • Analyze financial information to identify discrepancies
  • Research and resolve discrepancies timely
  • Collaborates with different departments to achieve the various deliverables on financial reporting.
  • Builds and maintains rapport with internal stakeholders and external agencies involved in the financial reporting process.

  • The employee is responsible for understanding and following the Bank’s BSA/AML policies including elevating suspicious activity to the BSA Officer. Additionally, the employee is required to understand and follow the Bank’s compliance program.
