About The Position

TRAXX Coachlines Ltd. is seeking an experienced Accounting Analyst to join our team in Edmonton. In this hybrid role, you will support core accounting operations, financial reporting, and analysis while partnering with leaders across the business to deliver accurate, timely, and meaningful financial information. Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience with fixed assets, inventory accounting, reconciliations, and KPI reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience working with accounting systems, including Sage or similar financial software.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working across multiple systems.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including operations, fleet management, and vendors.
  • High level of integrity, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, manage multiple projects, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Strong understanding of account reconciliations and working paper processes.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or in progress preferred
  • Previous industry experience in transportation, tourism, fleet or maintenance highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory accounting related to maintenance and shop operations.
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliations.
  • Track and record loan activity, including principal and interest allocations, and support related reconciliations and schedules.
  • Support the monthly close process through journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow reporting.
  • Develop and maintain financial metrics, dashboards, and reports for operations, maintenance, sales, and leadership teams.
  • Analyze transportation-related costs, including fuel and labour, and provide reporting that supports operational efficiency and decision-making.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and support projects that inform operational and strategic decisions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Reconcile key general ledger accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, and payroll.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial reporting aligns with operational activity and business priorities.
  • Provide support to junior team members and assist departments across the organization with accounting-related questions.
  • Contribute to special projects and provide support across other accounting areas as needed.
