About The Position

Summary: This is professional and responsible work assisting in various areas of plant accounting/finance, including but not limited to general ledger accounting, operations reporting and forecasting, fixed asset accounting, internal controls, and month-end financial closing and reporting.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance required.
Knowledge of basic accounting theory and methods.
Three years related work experience.
Ability to work well under deadlines and pressure.
Extensive use of MS Excel.
Looking for someone who is self-motivated, eager to learn, has a strong work ethic, and is detail oriented.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a standardized, systematic process.

Nice To Haves

Preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred general knowledge of MRP & SAP systems or related ERP Knowledge

Responsibilities

Assist the Controller with plant financial activities including GL accounting and reconciliations.
Support the month-end closing process including preparation of manual Journal Entries and ensuring appropriate cost allocations.
Monitor receivables and payables activity and address issues as necessary.
Maintain fixed asset folders to track capital projects from CAR to CIP to Assets Register.
Maintain capital tracking, reporting, and analysis.
Support inventory controls including annual physical inventory to ensure accurate inventory balances and perpetual analysis.
Support and promote Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Support controller in preparation of monthly outlook requirements as well as annual and long-range plans.
Maintain internal controls processes and documentation related to Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
Support internal and external audit activities.
Maintain directed supply process and reporting (including intercompany charges)
Will backup and support payroll processing
