This position is responsible for fixed assets and project tracking, various month-end analyses, general ledger account reconciliation and various special assignments. Requirements

  • 0 to 2 years’ experience in Accounting/Finance
  • Experience with Oracle Fixed Assets a plus
  • Experience in Microsoft Office products
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in accounting.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan & accomplish goals.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients to carry out responsibilities and respond to common inquiries from customers/clients or members of the business community.
  • Ability to develop presentations to be delivered to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts like exponents, algebra, quadratic equations and basic logic functions such as if-then-else statements.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as statistical and financial math calculations, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly closing process. This includes preparation of journal entries, and various month-end analysis
  • Calculate monthly adjusting journal entries for changes on fixed assets
  • Update Oracle for additions, transfers, changes and disposals monthly
  • Verify accuracy of system journal entries for depreciation, additions and disposals
  • Track project costs and work with owners of projects for proper accounting treatment
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Prepare for interim and year-end financial audits and census reporting
  • May be required to do cross functional project work.
  • May be required to do cross functional teamwork and participate in cross functional teams
