Requirements

0 to 2 years’ experience in Accounting/Finance
Experience with Oracle Fixed Assets a plus
Experience in Microsoft Office products
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in accounting.
Works under general supervision.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan & accomplish goals.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients to carry out responsibilities and respond to common inquiries from customers/clients or members of the business community.
Ability to develop presentations to be delivered to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts like exponents, algebra, quadratic equations and basic logic functions such as if-then-else statements.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as statistical and financial math calculations, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities

Assist with monthly closing process. This includes preparation of journal entries, and various month-end analysis
Calculate monthly adjusting journal entries for changes on fixed assets
Update Oracle for additions, transfers, changes and disposals monthly
Verify accuracy of system journal entries for depreciation, additions and disposals
Track project costs and work with owners of projects for proper accounting treatment
Reconcile general ledger accounts
Prepare for interim and year-end financial audits and census reporting
May be required to do cross functional project work.
