About The Position

TIAC is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who is eager to contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven organization while continuing to build their career in finance. The Accountant will support the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization, including reconciliations, journal entries, payables and receivables, month-end close support, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA required
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks and other accounting software
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a non-profit, association, or member-based organization
  • Familiarity with audit preparation
  • Experience supporting process improvements and strengthening internal controls

Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy
  • Complete bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities
  • Help prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation
  • Maintain organized and accurate accounting records
  • Assist with budget tracking and variance analysis
  • Support payroll processing and related reconciliations as required
  • Coordinate documentation and schedules for audits and compliance reviews
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and organizational policies
  • Identify and recommend opportunities to improve financial processes and workflows
  • Provide additional support to the finance team as needed
