About The Position

Join a team of professionals working to fulfill the mission and further the strategic goals of Communication Federal Credit Union. As an Accountant you will be responsible for general ledger functions and the reconciliation of subsidiary journals and bank accounts for the credit union. You will also handle and support the department's responsibilities in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and other projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Accountant role; with bank or credit union, or other financial institution environment.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and core accounting processes: financial reporting, journal entries, U.S. GAAP fundamentals.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency: able to work confidently with formulas, pivot tables, data analysis and modeling.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to organize and prioritize workflow.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, verify, and control all tasks associated with general ledger journal entries.
  • Assist in correcting transactions, research accounting data to resolve errors.
  • Reconcile A/P and A/R, bank accounts, savings accounts, share certificates and loans to trial balance.
  • Maintain department files, reports, documents, and records.
  • Work with auditors and examiners to handle inquiries and requested materials.
  • Assist with month-end financial reports.
  • Act as backup for other accounting roles.
  • Other assignments as required.
