About The Position

The Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations and a broad range of accounting activities, including month-end close, account reconciliations, fixed assets, sales tax, and audit support. This contract-to-hire position is fully onsite in Poway, California. It is intended for someone with 2–5 years of accounting experience who wants to build well-rounded accounting experience and take ownership of key processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.
• Experience with month-end close, including accruals and expense recognition.
• Understanding of fixed asset accounting and depreciation.
• Familiarity with sales tax, accounts receivable/accounts payable, and audit support.
• Intermediate Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, including cash and credit card accounts.
• Prepare month-end accruals and ensure expenses are recognized accurately.
• Manage fixed asset additions, retirements, depreciation, and intangible asset amortization.
• Support sales tax registrations and reconciliations.
• Review accounts receivable aging and support accounts payable activities.
• Assist with audit requests and supporting documentation.
• Perform accounting analysis and help maintain and improve accounting standard operating procedures.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve accounting-related issues.
• Support additional accounting projects and analyses as needed.
