About The Position

In this entry-level accounting position that supports the OxyChem business in the Dallas corporate office, duties may include: Provide accurate and timely reporting of information, analyze product cost data, monitor/reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure integrity and accuracy of month end accounting close process. Support plant controllers and perform multiple functions of cost accounting Assist business and manufacturing locations with analysis Perform inventory accounting and reconciliations including LIFO/FIFO calculations and analysis Complete Physical inventory trips to plants/warehouses/terminals and subsequent analysis/reconciliation of the product count Perform sales & cost of sales analysis Provide support and financial close responsibility for business segments including preparation and consolidation of financial statements, payroll, fringe benefits, insurance, cash, and receivables accounting Analysis and monthly reporting of Balance Sheet and P&L account activity, as well as, cash flow forecasting, working capital and other sources and uses Provide support for internal audits, external audits, government, and tax reporting Provide support for SEC reporting (Forms 10-Q and 10-K) and assist with environmental, international and lease accounting and reporting Develop, recommend, implement, and document accounting practices to promote best practices, task automation, and efficiencies while following generally accepted accounting principles, internal controls, and financial policies Participate in safety programs, as applicable. Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (min 18 hours of accounting credit)
  • Must have a graduation date of Dec 2025 – May 2026
  • Must maintain minimum cumulative 2.85 GPA on a 4.0 scale
  • Minimum 2 extracurricular, leadership and/or work activities
  • Desire to pursue a career as an Accountant in the chemicals industry

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of information
