About The Position

This role involves analyzing financial information to assess operational effectiveness, profitability, and trends. The accountant will support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies. Key responsibilities include managing accounts receivable/payable, calculating commissions, reconciling expenses, maintaining fixed assets, preparing financial statements, and assisting with audits and ad-hoc analytical requests.

Requirements

  • Specialized academic training in the field of accounting is required which may have been attained through a combination of work experience and intellectual instruction.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Skill and experience in reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including V-lookups and Pivots.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, trends, and other matters impacting the effectiveness of operations.
  • Analyze monthly revenues, expenses, and activity for the company and its subsidiaries.
  • Assist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring transactions are in accordance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures are followed, while communicating exceptions to management.
  • Work as a team with other staff accountants in standardizing practices and procedures.
  • Research and resolve A/R or A/P issues relating to intercompany for multiple divisions and foreign and domestic entities.
  • Enter, post invoices, and process intercompany transactions.
  • Calculate airline commissions and crew commissions payable.
  • Reconcile station expenses reports and perform bank reconciliations with foreign exchanges conversion.
  • Monitor sales report from foreign stations variance, and assist with month end closing.
  • Maintain fixed assets and prepare depreciation schedules.
  • On a monthly basis, review general ledger accounts and maintain balance sheet schedules.
  • Prepare financial statements, and provide assistance during audits.
  • Post monthly, quarterly, and yearly expense accruals.
  • Assist Senior Accountant as needed.
  • Support ad-hoc analytical business demands.
