About The Position

Performs functions necessary to compile, analyze, interpret, report and maintain the integrity of financial information in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Federal regulations, Tribal legislation, and Financial Resources policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related degree.
• One (1) year of experience.
• Knowledge of Accounting, Database, Inventory, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software, and Payroll systems.
• Ability to produce and interpret financial statements and internal reports.
• Ability to organize work to meet deadline requirements.
• Ability to prepare presentations for training.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Analytical skills to propose journal entries and monitor results.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related degree.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA Candidate.
• A driver's license may be required to work in some departments. If so, the applicant/employee must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
