About The Position

We are hiring a Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations and administrative accounting functions. This role works closely with the Assistant Controller and Accounting team on vendor receivables, Rebate Manager administration, month-end close activities, and physical inventory audits across store locations. This is a fully in-office position; remote or hybrid work is not available. Must be able to travel and drive to store sites as needed.

Requirements

Associate Degree in Accounting required
Intermediate understanding of general ledger, journal entries, AR/AP, inventory, and financial statements
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, reconciliations) and accounting software
Strong attention to detail with good organizational and communication skills
Must be able to drive to store sites and travel as required

Nice To Haves

3-4 years of business office, corporate accounting, or related accounting experience
Prior experience in a professional business office setting is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Support Rebate Manager administration, including vendor rebate programs, promotional allowances, trade incentives, invoicing, and accounts receivable reconciliations
Monitor vendor receivables and assist with accruals; follow up on outstanding balances
Prepare routine journal entries and account reconciliations, including inventory, COGS, accruals, depreciation, insurance, property taxes, year end and month end entries.
Assist with month-end close and preparation of supporting schedules and workpapers
Participate in scheduled and surprise physical inventory audits; reconcile counts to POS and inventory systems
Assist in researching inventory variances, shrinkage, and discrepancies and work with store teams on resolution
Process store coupons and gift cards and prepare related accounting entries and reconciliations
Maintain documentation to support audits and internal controls
Provide backup support for company property insurance processing
