About The Position

As an Internal Accountant at Code Gaia, you will be the backbone of our daily financial processes. You will be responsible for ongoing accounting, ensuring clean and timely payment runs, and serving as the central point of contact for our external tax advisors. You will work closely with our Finance Controller, Revenue Operations team, and Head of Finance, contributing significantly to building our growing team on a solid financial foundation. Code Gaia's mission is to make sustainability easy and accessible for companies, encouraging small and medium-sized businesses to collectively combat climate change and social injustice.

Requirements

You have practical experience in accounting or finance operations, ideally in the SaaS or tech environment.
You have completed commercial training (e.g., tax assistant, balance sheet accountant) or a comparable degree with a focus on Finance/Accounting.
You have sound knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and ideally initial experience with SaaS-specific topics such as recurring revenues (ARR) or subscription billing.
You work precisely, structured, and maintain an overview even with a high volume of documents and recurring tasks.
You communicate clearly, friendly, and solution-oriented – also in contact with external tax advisors and clients.
You are proficient in using common accounting and invoicing tools (e.g., Moss, DATEV, Younium, Easybill, HubSpot, or similar).
You are reliable, enjoy working independently, and take ownership of your area.
You have German language skills at C2 level.
You have good English skills, as our internal working language is English.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for ongoing financial accounting (accounts payable and accounts receivable) and ensure a clean, audit-proof filing of all documents.
You will review incoming invoices, prepare payment runs, and release them via our tool Moss to ensure no financial matters are overlooked.
You will support with outgoing invoices and open receivables through our systems (Younium, Easybill, HubSpot) and coordinate with Revenue Operations.
You will manage credit card administration and reconciliation for the entire team.
You will prepare the monthly closing and work closely with our tax advisor.
You will support the maintenance of our cash calendar and provide reliable figures to the Finance Controller for liquidity planning and forecasts.
You will create ad-hoc analyses and specific reports for the Head of Finance, Finance Controller, and other stakeholders.
We will support you in using AI tools (e.g., Claude) to automate recurring accounting processes.
