About The Position

We are looking for an Accountant to join our Principal Asset Management Enterprise Team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting accurate financial reporting, analysis, and operational insights for Principal Asset Management’s global back office services. You'll contribute to a range of accounting, reporting, expense analysis, and process improvement activities that support business transparency, regulatory compliance, and informed decision-making. The position plays an important role in shaping high-quality financial reporting for global operations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • This position may require successful completion of a criminal background check

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or other applicable certifications preferred
  • Experience supporting financial reporting, analysis, or cost management activities preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial information for internal stakeholders to support management and regulatory reporting needs
  • Provide clear explanations of financial results, trends, and drivers to finance partners, leadership, and auditors
  • Assist with audit inquiries and ensure documentation supports internal controls, policies, and accounting standards
  • Support recurring cost allocation processes across Principal Asset Management products and business units
  • Ensure allocations are completed accurately and timely in accordance with approved methodologies
  • Assist with maintaining documentation of assumptions along with factors supporting audits, regulatory reviews, and transfer pricing analysis
  • Seek opportunities to improve, streamline, and automate accounting and reporting processes
  • Support implementation or enhancement of financial systems, tools, and ERP functionality
  • Recommend improvements to procedures, methodologies, and documentation to strengthen efficiency and controls
  • Partner with Finance and Business Support teams to gather data, validate assumptions, and resolve issues
  • Communicate outcomes and impacts to stakeholders with clarity and professionalism
  • Assist with special projects, financial analysis, and strategic initiatives as needed
