About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Sycamores provides a spectrum of equitable mental health services through various programs to multicultural populations of all acuities. Although it serves a variety of consumers, the agency focuses primarily on providing care to low-income, high at- risk youth.
Provide general accounting support as part of the Accounting Team with responsibilities, accountability, and processes in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sycamores policies and procedures.
Starting Pay Range:
$25 - $31 per hour (starting pay will be based on previous work experience and educational background.)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree OR at least 1-3 years of relevant experience required.
• Maintains all required licenses and certifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Knowledge in internal controls (and Sarbanes Oxley as applicable)
• All candidates who are presented with a conditional offer of employment must satisfy a pre-employment background check, drug, and health screen.

Responsibilities

• Ensures timely and accurate processing of payables, acquiring the proper approvals while ensuring the appropriate GL coding.
• Prepare journal entries to support month end close.
• Perform general ledger operations and prepare analysis of accounts.
• Prepare year end close schedules to support fiscal audit.
• Assist with preparation and coordination of the contract audit.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining internal controls and procedures in accordance with GAAP and Auditor-Controller handbook.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
